April 2015 Fresno Madera Calendar Of Events

There are so many events going on in Fresno & Madera county during the month of April. Many family friendly events such as Breakfast with the Animals & Party for the Planet on Apr. 11 @ the Fresno Chaffee Zoo,  Big Hat Days on Apr. 11-12 in Clovis, Fresno State First Nations Powwow on Apr. 11 @ O’Neill Park, Fresno State Campus. There are also a few adult only events such as Fresno County Spring Wine Journey Apr. 11-12, Old Town Clovis Craft Beer Crawl Apr. 19 & Twilight Tour- Spring 2015 Apr. 25. Plus many more fun events to check out.

West Coast Mennonite Relief Sale & Auction Apr. 10-11

This is an annual community celebration of generosity to support the relief, development and peace work of the Mennonite Central Committee. Relief Sales & Auctions are organized by Mennonites in communities across North America as a way to raise money to assist those in need around the world.

Outlawed Conference Apr. 10-12

Fresno March for Babies Apr. 11

Join us, as we walk together for stronger, healthier babies. March for Babies® is the March of Dimes largest fundraiser.

Fresno State First Nations Powwow Apr. 11

There will be Native American arts and craft vendors, and food vendors. Admission is free to this family event, and the public is welcome to attend. No alcohol, no drugs, and no pets, please.

Big Hat Days Apr. 11-12

The Table Mountain Casino BIG Hat Days, a Clovis Chamber Event, is the largest two day festival in Central California. Over 140,000 visitors fill the streets of Old Town to enjoy 350 craft and food booths.

Fresno County Spring Wine Journey Apr. 11-12

Spring is in the air and the winemakers of the Twin Rivers Vintners Association invite you to enjoy a spring afternoon tasting San Joaquin Valley wine at our event. Fresno County Wine Journey has 12 wineries at 10 locations and 2 breweries.

San Joaquin Valley Town Hall Presents Dr. Robert Ballard Apr. 15

Dr. Robert Ballard, best known for his discovery of wreckage of the Titanic and other famous sunken ships and submarines, will present what TED Talks calls a “mind-bending trip to hidden worlds underwater.” A legendary explorer and powerful speaker, Ballard has been called a modern day Captain Nemo for his extraordinary exploration and knowledge of the ocean.

Volunteer Day Apr. 18

Twilight Tour- Spring 2015 Apr. 25

Adults-only event (16yrs and older) held just two evenings per year. You are treated to a fantastic dinner and dessert. Everyone has the opportunity to free-walk trail at your leisure as there is a docent at every enclosure to answer any questions. During our special guided tour, you can see the cats interact with their favorite keepers and watch the cats receiving new toys and treats.

Stage Route Tour Apr. 25

The bus travels to Coarsegold, then to Knowles. The Raymond Museum is next. Then north on Rd 600 just like the freight wagons and stages did 100 years ago. On to Oakhurst to see the original site of the town of “Fresno Flats.” Arrive back at the CG museum for dessert and docent-led tours.
